BITS Pilani University every year conducts BITSAT (BirlaInstitute of Technology and Science Admission Test) for its admissions to
various Integrated First Degree Programmes of Engineering. This year for BITSAT 2016, approx. 2 lakhs
candidates are expected to appear for nearly 2,000 seats available in various
BE (Hons.) programmes of all the three campuses of BITS- Pilani, Goa and
Hyderabad. The BITSAT national level engineering entrance exam are to be
conducted in around 50 cities in India and also in Dubai in the month of May,
2016.
Birla Institute of
Technology and Science Admission Test is conducted in online mode only. Candidates appearing for
this national level engineering entrance exam. can go through all the below
mentioned details of the BITSAT – 2016 exam, like application form, eligibility
criteria, syllabus, exam centres, exam pattern, counseling, results, and
important dates. BITSAT 2016 notification is expected to be released
by 8th January 2016.
For
admission to any of the First Degree programmes of BITS except
B.Pharm.(Hons.):
Candidates must pass
the 12th examination of 10+2 system from a recognized Central or State board or
its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics and adequate
proficiency in English.
For
admission to B.Pharm.(Hons.):
Candidates must pass the
12th examination of 10+2 system from a recognized Central or State board or its
equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology and adequate proficiency in
English. However candidates with PCM may also apply for Pharmacy program.
Admission to all the programmes is subject to the
conditions given below.
Candidates have to obtain atleast 75% marks (aggregate)
in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects (if he/she has taken Mathematics
in BITSAT) or atleast 75% marks (aggregate) in Physics, Chemistry and Biology
subjects (if he/she has taken Biology in BITSAT) subjects in 12th examination,
with a minimum of 60% marks in each of the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics
/ Biology subjects.
Only Students
who are appearing for 12th class examination in 2016 or who have passed 12th
class Examination in 2015 are eligible to appear in the BITSAT-2016
test. If a candidate has taken more than one attempt in 12th class
or its equivalent, only his/her latest performance will be considered, provided
this attempt has been for the full component of subjects/courses prescribed. Students who are presently studying under any of BITS
Campus are not allowed to appear in the exam.
Admissions will be made purely on merit. The merit
position of the candidate for admission will be based on the score obtained by the
candidate in the BITSAT-2016. However, their eligibility for admission is
subject to fulfilling the requirement of minimum marks in 12th examination, as
mentioned above.
